Structural Computer Aided Drafting and Design Drafter wanted by Harrison-Hamnett, P.C., Pennington, NJ.
Job Duties:
Translate structural engineering calculations and design specifications into detailed drawings;
Create comprehensive construction document sets of plans, including elevations, sections, details, and reinforcement schedules;
Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate precise 2D and 3D structural drawings;
Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create 3D models of structures, coordinating with other disciplines like architectural and mechanical design;
Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, engineering standards, and project specifications;
Collaborate with structural engineers to clarify design intent and address any technical issues;
Draw precise details of structural connections like beam-to-column connections, column-to-foundation connections, and steel reinforcement details;
Document and annotate drawings by incorporating labels, specifications, and notes to drawings to clearly convey construction information;
Obtain and assemble data to complete structural designs, including visiting job sites to compile measurements, as necessary;
Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data;
Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data to ensure alignment with design concepts; and
Prepare bidding documents and technical reports for specific projects under the supervision of Engineers.
Job Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation that includes the required experience and skills. Experience must include:
5 years of experience with structural AutoCAD;
5 years of experience with 3D structural modeling using Revit;
3 years of experience with RISA or SCAD finite element analysis (FEA) software; and
3 years of experience with designing for industrial buildings.
JOB LOCATION: This is a hybrid position. Work from home office is available when approved by supervisor.
Compensation: $79,165/yr to $80,000/yr
